What's New/Up?

Hey Listeners!

I have had about 3 episodes of what we podcasters call Podfading where we podcast, then we slowly begin to not podcat until you are in the dark and I never post again... Here's my explanation!

Podfade 1:

Well, if you guys are following our virtues, you have been very patient with me! I am very sorry for what has been going on for the past couple of weeks... To start, I began the podcast on my IBM, then about three weeks later, I bought Macbook which I still haven't moved everything over to. SO, then I started using a new program which worked much better than my IBM. This ended about a month ago.

Podfade 2:

I hate doing this (AKA, Passing the blame), but FAPC wasn't giving me the audio so I couldn't even give you anything at all. Then when they had audio for me, I wasn't able to podcast and put it on the web.

Podfade 3:

Well, I was gone for two weeks and never had web access during that time. I also am just getting back into the hang of things so there shouldn't be a reason for my absence, but if there is I will either post it or some how tell you guys!

Now, looking on iTunes or here, you see two things called PodVIDisodes.

WHAT ARE THESE??? Well here's what they are!

Podisodes are our normal form of episode/preference. PodVIDisode is our last resort for podcasting. These two episodes are all about VBS, these were supposed to be shown the Sudnday after VBS, unfortunately I procrastinated ascending editing and didn't edit as I went. I finished this about a month ago and then remastered it so it is big enough to watch on the site.

TO WATCH PART 1 & 2 ON OUR SITE PLEASE CLICK ON THE POD LOGO AND IT WILL PLAY IT. THE MOVIE REQUIRES QUICKTIME IF YOU DON'T HAVE QUICKTIME, VISIT: APPLE.COM/QUICKTIME/DOWNLOAD.

iTUNES PEOPLE, PLEASE DOWNLOAD IT FOR EASIER VIEWING.

Thanks!

What is a Podcast?

Hey Listeners,

I finally have gotten my act together and have compiled some information on what a podcast is for some of our technologically unsavvy listeners.

Here it is:

Podcasting, created by former MTV VJ Adam Curry, is a term that was devised as a crisp way to describe the technology used to push audio content from websites down to consumers of that content, who typically listen to it on their iPod (hence the "pod") or other audio player that supports mp3 at their convenience. The term podcasting is meant to rhyme with broadcasting and is a derivative of the iPod platform. While not directly associated with Apple's iPod device or iTunes
music service, the company did contribute both the desire and the
technology for this capability. Podcasting is not unlike time-shifted
video software and devices like TiVo,
which let you watch what you want when you want by recording and
storing video, except that podcasting is used for audio and is
currently free of charge. Note, however, that this technology can be
used to push any kind of file, including software updates, pictures,
and videos.

Podcasting uses an XML-based technology called RSS, or Really Simple Syndication. Content publishers describe new content in an XML RSS file which includes dates, titles, descriptions, and links to MP3
files. This auto-generated file is called an RSS feed. The key to
making podcasting work with RSS is enclosures, a feature supported by RSS 2.0.

What
makes podcasting special is that it allows individuals to publish
(podcast) radioshows, that interested listeners can subscribe to.
Before podcasting you could of course record a radio show and put it on
your website, but now people can automatically receive new shows,
without having to go to a specific site and download it from there.
